Remember this guy?
Well, if you can, then you are almost as old as me.
Buzby, the BT bird whose challenge it was to get us all talking.
Of course, that was before E-mail was invented and talking to each other was the only quick way.
In my view, it served more purposes that just ‘talk’.
People communicated with each other, issues were resolved promptly, and people were more ‘involved’ with other people.
These days, there seems to be a reluctance to engage and as a result emails are used to ‘get the thing off my desk’.
Just because you emailed the issue along, it doesn’t mean that it will get resolved.
For my part, I’d much rather talk and listen.
“Give the customer a damn good listening to!”.. was a phrase used much in my early days of learning about selling.
We could all do well to remember this and maybe talk just a little more.
I can even help you to find a new phone system, if the one that you have doesn’t support your needs.
